Here are a breakdown of what to expect when NBA 2K22 Season 2 launches on Friday, Oct. 22

2K22’s first season brought this year’s game to life, with all new ways for players to enjoy the beloved basketball franchise. But, as one door closes, another one opens.

NBA 2K22
has kept fans entertained with a variety of new updates, player packs, and challenges that are being updated at a timely pace so far. The game has brought in a huge transformation of the MyCareer mode and has also shown an increased impetus to develop an eSports community across consoles in recent weeks.

For NBA 2K22, the game will be broken down into multiple seasons. Each season offers new rewards and prizes for completing tasks and winning games. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect when Season 2 launches on Friday, Oct. 22.

New rewards and content are landing in several different game modes, including MyCAREER and MyTEAM, the latter of which will bring a Free Agent Michael Jordan to all players at release.

2K22 Season 2 MyCareer updates: XP rewards, Rebirth, quests, events
Players in Season 1 were on the hunt for a go-kart that could be earned by hitting level 40. In Season 2, the coveted prize for level 40 is a Skeleton Mascot that players will be able to wear. Fitting, given the spooky Halloween season that it overlaps with.

The Rebirth feature allows next-gen gamers to skip to 90-overall players while allowing current-gen users to skip the first 10 MyPoints levels. However, players will first need to collect Rebirth points that are available by simply completing the new quests. This can be done easily by visiting the ATM near the in-game NBA store and completing ten 3v3 or 2v2 matches.

Like last season, you will be able to level up by collecting XP playing around on the cruise of the city depending if you play current or next-gen. As soon as we get a full list of the rewards available during Season 2 we will update you, but we expect more banners, attires and maybe a new vehicle.

There’s also a very spooky Halloween event titled, “The Long Night” coming that will take place over the course of the day on October 31. Trick-or-treat locations will be added and both the cruise ship and the City will delve into full double-XP darkness.

On the other end of the fan-favourite game modes, MyTeam will also get some tweaks to their core modes and of course, a new slate of rewards that haven’t been made official yet, just like MyCareer.

One of the other main surprises that 2K had for us is the introduction of the Player-Coach cards for the first time ever in the history of the franchise.

These special items will be available throughout the Domination game mode where you could get a Diamond Coach Player version of Bill Russell, “The Chef” Stephen Curry or even “The Worm” himself.

Are there new Token Market rewards?
The following players will join the Token Market for Season 2:

    Pink Diamond Chris Mullin.
    Diamond Bingo Smith.
    Amethyst Montrezl Harrell.
    Ruby Cole Anthony.
